Course Selection Information for 2020-2021

Guidance counsellors held a Course Selection Information evening for parents of grade 9 student as well as parents of grade 10 and 11 students over the past month.  Counsellors have now been visiting classrooms to talk to grade 10 and 11 students and to hand out the course selection books and worksheet.

Students will be called by class during the week of March 9-13 to select their courses.  Students can also log into PowerSchool to select their courses on their own. Parents and students can make electronic changes in PowerSchool to course selection until March 29.  After that time, changes will only be made to a student’s schedule in September if a student failed a course from the previous year and requires this course for graduation or if a student is under-scheduled. Due to enrollment numbers, classes will be full to capacity. Selecting the right courses now is very important!

As a reminder to students, parents and guardians:  grade 10 students must be registered in 8 courses, grade 11 students must take 7 courses and grade 12 students must take 6 courses (3 in each semester).
