Emergency Preparedness Information Session - Students Invited to Attend

Halifax West MP Lena Metlege Diab will be hosting an upcoming information session on Emergency Preparedness & Building Climate Resilience on April 25th.

Last year’s terrible wildfires and flash flooding caused evacuations, displacement, property damage, and fear for so many of us. Unfortunately, there is a real risk that these types of climate-fuelled emergencies will continue to affect our community in the years ahead.

To build awareness of existing resources and to support residents in advance of potential future climate emergencies, Halifax West MP Lena Metlege Diab is hosting an information session on Thursday, April 25th, from 6:00-8:00pm at the Salvation Army in Fairview (50 Gesner Street).

The event will be structured like an expo, with organizations on hand to answer questions. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of different programs in place for climate emergency response and support, climate change adaptation, and managing physical and mental well-being during and after these events.

While reserving a spot isn’t mandatory, RSVPs are encouraged by email to lenametlege.diab@parl.gc.ca.
