Under the direction of teacher François Weber, a dedicated group of high school students has been working toward a powerful production of 12 Angry Jurors. Following the closing arguments of a murder trial, twelve jurors must deliberate a verdict that will determine the fate of an inner-city teen, with a guilty decision carrying the weight of a death sentence. As tensions rise and personal biases emerge, one juror begins to question the evidence, challenging the group’s assumptions and forcing a deeper examination of justice, prejudice, and reasonable doubt.
This production represents the culmination of extensive extra-curricular commitment, including hours of rehearsal, workshops, and collaborative practice, offering students a meaningful opportunity to develop their craft and perform for a live audience. To heighten the play’s intensity, CPA Players will stage the performance in the round within an intimate studio setting, placing the audience at the centre of the action and immersing them in the pressure and moral complexity of deciding a young person’s fate.
